21 Savage finally released his sophomore album I Am > I Was this morning. The interesting part about the project is that he collaborated with some unexpected suspects such as J.Cole, ScHoolboy Q, and Childish Gambino. However, it looks like one person was missing from the tracklist: Travis Scott. 21 took to Twitter to assure fans that the verse is indeed on its way.

21 Savage let fans know that Travis Scott’s contributions to I Am > I Was will appear in the near future. “Travis verse will be released very soon and your headphones gone blow up,” he wrote on Twitter followed by three laughing emojis, five fire emojis, and five goat emojis.

While sitting down with the Breakfast Club, 21 Savage revealed that he was trying his hardest to have Travis on the project, but the Astroworld rapper only sent his album a few hours before the album went live on streaming platforms. He admitted that Travis’ contributions to the song is much more than a verse or a hook.

“Man, that shit is so fucking hard. Like, Travis is crazy man. Y’all know how Travis is. He’s a perfectionist. He’s been working on that shit for a minute,” he said. “He sent it last night. And I was trying to get it, but they was talking a whole bunch of shit I don’t understand.”

When asked if it was over clearance issues, 21 replied, “Nah, it’s codes and some other shit. But they gon’ get it on there though. That shit hard, though. That shit too hard.”
