At the rate the New York Knicks are playing right now, there’s a good chance they’ll finish as one of the worst three teams in the NBA this season. Currently sitting at 9-24, the Knicks could be in position to select one of the three highly touted Duke freshman, including projected #1 overall pick Zion Williamson.

Following Duke’s victory at MSG on Thursday night, Williamson was asked about the possibility of playing for the Knicks.

His reaction:

According to the New York Daily News’ Stefan Bondy, who posed the question to Zion, the freshman phenom’s hilarious reaction wasn’t because he was asked about the Knicks, but because he didn’t want to attach himself to any particular team.

Williamson went on to say, “Forty-one games at the Garden, I mean, it would probably be incredible.”

He continued:

“This is the Garden,” Williamson said. “A lot of greats have come through here. My favorite great to come through here was probably Bernard King because my stepdad talked about him a lot how he just put the ball in the basket. … I had to go watch his highlights. He could really score the basketball. He was incredible how he did it.

“Playing 41 games here wouldn’t be so bad.”

Of Knicks superstar Kristaps Porzingis, Williamson said he respect his game so much that he refused to sit at his locker.

“He’s a very incredible player,” Williamson said. “I’m just trying to be the best, and if I’m trying to get to that level, I’ve got a long way to go.

“A lot of respect, that’s why I didn’t sit at his locker.”

Williamson fouled out with under four minutes to go in last night’s game, but he finished with 17 points and 13 rebounds in 25 minutes of action in Duke’s 69-58 win over Texas Tech.
